LGBTQ+, Gender Identity, Family of Origin, and General Identity Expert

Approach to Therapy

In many relationships, connection begins with trust and understanding of one another, and the therapeutic relationship is no different. I believe that the best work is done when you feel comfortable with and known by your therapist. Crucial to this relationship is the awareness that many concerns are not isolated to one issue. Everyone’s situation is different, and I believe that context matters and is important to understanding ourselves and others. In my experience, gaining insight into the intertwining context of our lives can help us better understand our concerns and how to move forward.

I take a collaborative and individualized approach to work with clients to address each person’s own context. I utilize a humanistic, person-centered approach, often pulling from feminist and interpersonal perspectives to better understand client concerns.

Focus Areas and Treatment Provided

I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ concerns, including (but not limited to), sexuality, gender, and attractionality exploration, understanding, transition, and acceptance. I enjoy helping clients work through family of origin and general identity concerns. I provide individual therapy to adults and particularly have experience working with young adults/college students navigating through life transitions. I also have experience working with depression, anxiety, and stress management
