Approach to Therapy

Are you feeling disconnected  from yourself, your partner(s), your sexuality, or your sense of purpose? Whether you're struggling with the weight of depression, the grip of anxiety, distance in your relationships, or navigating questions around identity or intimacy, therapy can help you find relief and clarity. My approach to therapy is collaborative, relational, and grounded in authenticity. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel safe enough to show up fully, without judgement or the need to filter parts of yourself. Together, we explore patterns, emotions, and experiences with curiosity rather than criticism.

My clients are adults who want to feel more connected to themselves, to their partners, and to a life that feels authentic and manageable. I see clients individually as well as with their partner(s). If you're tired of just "getting through it", we can work together to move toward lasting change. Therapy is a place where you should feel seen, safe, and empowered. I offer a warm, inclusive, and collaborative environment where laughter is welcomed, and we will work at your pace to uncover what is holding you back and move toward what matters most. Therapy is not about "fixing you", it's about helping you build a deeper relationship with yourself and move toward a life that feels more aligned, intentional and authentic.

Focus Areas and Treatment Provided

I work with adults, in both individual and couples counseling, navigating a range of emotional and relational challenges, with a focus on helping clients build insight, strengthen emotional awareness, and improve connection with themselves and others. Not only do I address relationship issues across different types of expressions, but also anxiety management, life transitions, and sex therapy.

I provide affirming care to all and have experience with non-monogamy and kink-affirming relationships. I offer tools and insight grounded in compassion, sex-positivity, and evidenced based practices. My work is tailored to each client and may incorporate a blend of approaches, including attachment-based therapy, emotionally focused work, and skills for emotional regulation and communication. I aim to meet you where you are while helping you move to where you want to be.

Reach out now to make the changes you want!

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you're used to handling things on your own. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you're ready to explore therapy or simply curious about whether it might be a good fit, I invite you to connect. I offer a brief consultation where we can talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions, and get a feel for if we will work well together.

More about me Professionally and Personally

Professionally, I am passionate about creating a space where people feel safe being fully honest, especially about parts of their lives that don't always have a place elsewhere. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working in the medical field which continues to shape how I understand the connection between the body, emotional regulation, and sexual health. I also completed the University of Michigan Sexual Health Program which provides specialized training in sex therapy. Most of my work has been in private practice where I have had the opportunity to support a wide range of clients navigating deeply personal and relational challenges. What matters most to me in that work is helping people feel understood and not judged.

Outside of the therapy room, I am a partner and are a parent to young children. I have personal experience with non-traditional relationship structures. This informs my understanding of the complexity, depth, and nuance that relationships can hold beyond conventional expectations. I am a longtime lover of sci-fi and fantasy. I also enjoy gaming, and reading. I recently developed a passion for running, which has become both a grounding and challenging experience in the best of ways.

"Talking about sex can change the world."
